Operator - Press

Description

We are currently looking for a Flexographic Printing Press Operator at our Griffin, GA location.

• Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
• Operate and direct the operation of a Windmoller & Holscher (W&H) 10-color flexographic printing press to meet current Business Plan Objectives for press utilization, press speed, production efficiency, and waste.
• Organize work for smooth, efficient operations; review production schedules, manufacturing order information, and other production documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate resolution of production problems and communicate resolutions to team members and plant leadership team.
• Inspect press production and quality checklist daily; perform on‑spot corrections of deficiencies and/or coordinate with maintenance, quality, or other support groups for corrective action.
• Coordinate production and maintenance efforts to increase run time. Ensure planned maintenance is completed in a routine and timely manner; report any process and equipment concerns promptly.
• Ensure communication between all crew members and share knowledge of press operation.
• Troubleshoot problems and implement actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Monitor production data and update Daily Management System (DMS) at the end of each shift; be responsible for waste and output of press.
• Train and mentor Press Helpers, Press Assistants, and other Press Operators.
• Ensure assigned machine Preventive Maintenance (PM) is performed according to the schedule.
• Complete or check all required tracking forms (Job Plan, Work Order Start‑up form and housekeeping checklists).
• Ensure materials are available for next order & next shift.
• Set the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines, follow established food safety guidelines, and hold self and others accountable.
• Direct press crew on changeovers.

• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Position requires flexibility to include shift changes and overtime; must be able to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.

• High School or better (required). Technical/other training or better (preferred).

• 2 years of Flexographic Printing Experience (required).
