CoWorx Staffing Services has a Direct Hire opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic 2nd shift working in Griffin, GA. This is an exciting opportunity working for an American‑owned products manufacturer that takes pride in providing superior service and delivering innovative solutions that save time, labor, and materials.

Hours for 2nd shift is 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Overtime may be involved and also some Saturdays. Candidate would train on the 1st shift for four weeks and then move to the 2nd shift. 1st shift hours are 6:00 AM-2:00 PM.

Responsibilities:
  • Has mechanical skills and knowledge to perform all mechanical repairs, PM, inspection, routine and non‑routine maintenance on all major plant equipment.
  • Proficient in ARC and oxygen‑acetylene welding and oxy‑acetylene cutting.
  • Proficient in MIG and TIG welding with full knowledge of best type welding to use in any given application.
  • Can weld in all positions including flat, vertical, horizontal and overhead.
  • Can identify different types of steel, what type of welding rods to use and when to pre‑heat for best results.
  • Has knowledge of printed circuit boards and D.C. drives and can perform basic troubleshooting and repair same by connecting laptop to equipment using Allen Bradley or other software.
  • Is proficient in using electrical test equipment.
  • Proficient in all mechanical shop equipment operations.
  • Is capable of fabricating non‑machined parts from prints, drawings, or damaged parts.
  • Is proficient in troubleshooting and repair of all hydraulic and pneumatic systems in the plant.
  • Has working knowledge of different hydraulic valves, flow control valves, needle valves in both hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Has working knowledge of all types of hydraulic fittings hoses and steel lines for carrying hydraulic fluids and compressed air.
  • Has proficient skills at reading blue prints and drawings. Is able to draw readable sketches and drawings so that other Maintenance employees can read and perform work from same.
  • Electrical skills and knowledge to act as lead electrician and can train, supervise other employees in all phases of electrical work.
  • Is able to operate machine shop equipment and perform basic machining tasks such as making simple shafts, cutting keyways, drilling and tapping holes.
  • Is proficient in all phases of machinist work, can do precision grinding of all rotary dies, punches and blades.
  • Has basic knowledge and understanding of Mobile Equipment Mechanic position, including tractor and trailer maintenance and procedures.
