Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division (EPD) offers integrated solutions, parts, and services to meet the needs of our commercial and industrial electric power customers. EPD supports a wide range of applications across the globe, including back‑up power for hospitals, emergency power during natural disasters, and critical infrastructure for data centers, municipalities, and more. We’re committed to providing sustainable and reliable solutions to our customers.

• Research new materials and competitive products; organize, coordinate, and execute prototype building, testing, and analysis.
• Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and performance; oversee drafting and testing specialists.
• Develop and document functional requirements and translate them into detail design documents. Participate in buy‑build analysis for product components.
• Support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science (preferred).
• Knowledge of control systems communication and application.
• Experience with RS‑485, J1939, and Ethernet communication networks.
• Experience with Modbus, CAN, and TCP/IP communication protocols.
• Diesel genset applications experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of test procedures and equipment.
• Strong analytical thinking: determine root causes, evaluate risks, and recommend solutions.
• Effective communication skills, including document and presentation adaptation for audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and projects.
• Product design and development experience from concept through production.
