Position: CT Technologist - $20k Sign on Bonus (Westbank)

In collaboration with staff radiologists, this job assesses patients and safely performs routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols. This role is also a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

*$20k Sign on Bonus Available*

Education

Completion of a formal training program;
Radiologic Technology program in an AMA approved school.

Work Experience

Required – None.

Preferred – 2 years experience as a CT Technologist.

Certifications

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Licensed by the Louisiana State Radiology Technology Board of Examiners.

Advanced certification in CT required within 2 years of employment.

Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information; proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language required.
Job Duties
  • Verify physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care.
  • Explain procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol (including placement of IV).
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.
  • Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and perform notification/remediation as warranted.
  • Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Other related duties as required.
