Local Bus Drivers needed! $25.75 to 34.54 per hour dependent on experience for drivers with Class B or A license.
Work schedules are generally Monday through Friday. However, weekend work may be required depending on the assigned schedule. Recruiting both Full-Time and Part-Time Drivers.
Positions are based out of Redmond or Bend. Routes serve throughout Central Oregon.
Job PurposeProvide safe and efficient transportation services for Central Oregon public transportation passengers. As the initial contact with the public, Drivers must be courteous and professional and be able to represent the organization in a manner that will maintain and promote a positive reputation.
Responsibilities- Safely operate and transport passengers in a commercial motor vehicle;
- Safely and courteously assist passengers with mobility devices such as walkers, canes, crutches or wheelchairs and assist with carry‑on items;
- When necessary assist passengers with loading and unloading equipment on external carriers;
- Collect appropriate passenger fare and record passenger trips on a mobile data terminal;
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip internal and external vehicle inspections according to procedures;
- Report vehicle defects or problems to supervisor;
- Report accidents or other traffic issues to Dispatchers;
- Keep interior of vehicle clean, wash exterior of vehicles as assigned;
- Write daily reports in a logical and readable manner;
- Other duties that may be assigned.
- Current Oregon CDL Class B with passenger endorsement and air break restriction lifted within 30 days of hire;
- DOT pre‑employment and random drug testing required;
- Safety‑sensitive position with strong attendance record;
- Knowledge of geographic service area and ability to follow safety and operational rules and procedures;
- Must complete HIPAA training and maintain valid Oregon driver’s license with access to a private vehicle or equivalent means of transportation;
- Previous driving experience and current medical examiner certificate or ability to obtain within 1 week of hire;
- Pass post‑offer DOT/FTA pre‑employment drug test and maintain a clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 12 months;
- Background check with no criminal convictions that pose a threat to safety or property;
- Available for varying shifts.

High School diploma, GED or equivalent is required. Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a public passenger vehicle.
Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentCommunication: must speak and communicate effectively when using two‑way radio, supervisors, co‑workers and passengers.
- Vision: near vision to see details at close range.
- Manual labor: work outdoors under all weather conditions; subject to vehicle noise, fumes, odors, dust and animal dander.
- Low risk of injury from vehicle accidents or mechanical failures.
