MaintenanceMechanic - JLL What this job involves:
The Maintenance Mechanic is a critical team member supporting daily facility operations through skilled maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment across assigned commercial buildings. This hands‑on role ensures optimal facility performance and tenant satisfaction while maintaining safety standards and compliance requirements. You'll work as part of a dedicated operations team to keep our properties running smoothly, contributing directly to JLL's reputation for excellence in facility management and creating exceptional tenant experiences.
Whatyour day‑to‑day will look like:
- Maintain lighting systems including bulb and ballast replacement, and perform basic electrical repairs and troubleshooting
- Support building operations through maintenance and repair of facility equipment, including HVAC components and building systems
- Complete interior maintenance tasks such as painting, minor construction, and general facility upkeep to ensure professional property appearance
- Perform plumbing repairs including work on valves, faucets, and flushometers, utilizing snake/auger equipment for drain clearing
- Execute specialized tasks including locksmith services, tenant service requests, and emergency maintenance response
- Respond to after‑hours emergency calls as part of the on‑call rotation schedule
- Maintain strict compliance with safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and local ordinances while identifying and mitigating potential hazards
- Document work performance, materials usage, and maintenance activities according to established procedures
- Minimum 1 year of experience in general building repair and maintenance within a commercial or industrial setting
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems effectively
- Basic electrical skills including lighting system maintenance and minor electrical repairs
- Basic plumbing repair experience including fixture maintenance and drain clearing techniques
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and ability to work in compliance with hazardous materials handling procedures
- Availability for after‑hours emergency response as part of on‑call rotation
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in various building environments
- Commercial HVAC system experience including basic troubleshooting and maintenance procedures
- Experience using plumbing equipment including small and medium-sized snake/auger tools
- Previous experience in commercial property management or facility maintenance environment
- Basic locksmith skills or willingness to learn specialized maintenance techniques
- Familiarity with building automation systems and preventive maintenance programs
