General Description of Position
Assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power to the jobsite.
- Load and unload trucks and haul materials.
- Erect temporary structures.
- Places and vibrates freshly poured concrete.
- Mix ingredients to create compounds used to cover or clean surfaces.
- Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools such as sawing, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, shoring and braces, etc.
- Stripping, removal and cleaning of concrete formwork.
- Lifts, carries and holds building materials and supplies.
- Levels earth to fine grade using pick and shovel and measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes and stretches tight line.
- Grinds, sands and polishes concrete surfaces.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work area.
- When not performing the above essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by the supervisor
The employee in this job must be knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the company’s safety manual.
Specific Equipment and Materials to be usedOperate power vibrator to compact concrete, saws, power grinder, jack hammer and hand tools.
EducationHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Work EnvironmentThe work environment and physical demands characteristically described here are representative of those the employee will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, cold temperatures and high heat. The employee is frequently exposed to wet conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high and/ or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
