About the Gresham Area League for the Arts (GALA)

The Gresham Area League for the Arts (GALA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fostering a vibrant, collaborative art community. Since gaining our official nonprofit status in 2024, we have been focused on building a strong infrastructure to support our mission of promoting accessible exhibits, events, and educational opportunities.

GALA is a cornerstone of the Gresham arts scene, curating multiple rotating art shows displayed in the Gresham City Council Chambers and hosting "Art Talks" and Saturday Education programs. We believe in the power of culturally rich artistic diversity and work to ensure the arts remain a visible, vital part of East Counties identity.

The Opportunity:

As GALA continues to grow its impact, we are looking for a dedicated Board Secretary to join our leadership team. Because we are in an intentional building phase, the Secretary will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our records and ensuring our operations reflect our professional 501(c)(3) status.

• Detail-Oriented: You enjoy organization and understand the importance of clear documentation.

• Tech Savvy: Comfortable using digital tools (Google Drive/Email/Apps/Social Media) to store, share and inform.

• Community Minded: Passionate about local arts, education, and Gresham’s cultural growth.

Able to dedicate agreed upon volunteer hours per weekly to board duties.
