Title: Education Coordinator
Location: Youth Residential Treatment Center - 620 NE 2nd St., Gresham, OR 97030
Schedule: This is an in-person position, Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Wage Range: $28.35 - $33.60 hourly, non-exempt

The YRTC Education Coordinator is a critical part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and works collaboratively to facilitate the youth’s progress towards their individual goals. The Education Coordinator will help students establish realistic, achievable goals aligned with earning education credits while in treatment. The Education Coordinator will work with the Metro East Web Academy (MEWA) school to meet the students’ learning needs.
WhatYou Will Do
- Instruct MEWA lessons in subjects such as science, math, and language arts.
- Assess students to evaluate abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
- Teach students in full class settings, small groups, or individually.
- Supervise students during MEWA courses, tests, and exams.
- Communicate with YRTC counseling team, probation officers, or DHS workers about students’ progress.
- Prepare students for standardized tests required by the state (STAR 360, Smarter Balance, and OAKS).
- Develop and enforce classroom rules and YRTC policies.
- Work with MEWA special education teachers to adapt lessons for students with learning disabilities and emotional or behavioral disorders, and monitor progress.
- Maintain student records.
- Help YRTC students develop skills such as organizational and time management abilities and effective study habits.
- Assess and prepare reports on student achievement data.
- Manage and order school supplies, and schedule classroom maintenance.
- Establish and coordinate security procedures for students, staff, and visitors (Lock-in/Lock-out).
