Overview
Human Resource Officer II – St. George’s University invites applicants for the position of HR Officer II within the Office of Human Resources. This is a temporary engagement running until December 31, 2026. The ideal candidate will be unemployed and able to commence immediately.

Objective
The Human Resources Officer II is responsible for providing high quality Human Resource support throughout the employee lifecycle, with primary focus on HR operations processes.
Essential Functions- Support the Operations Specialist in monitoring and updating tracking spreadsheets
- Collaborate with the Operations Specialist and HR Generalist on the processing of faculty and staff renewals
- Be responsible for electronic filing of bulk appointments, renewals, commendation letters
- Support the HRIS Specialist in setting up all new accounts in the HRIS System
- Collaborate with the Operations Specialist and the HRIS Information Specialist to ensure the timely and accurate processing of faculty and staff data related to assigned functions
- Process letters of verification of present and past employment of faculty members
- Monitor the Facultyhr group e-mail, actioning, responding and forwarding as appropriate
- Be familiar with all HR policies and procedures in order to respond knowledgeably to faculty enquires
- In addition, the Human Resource Officer will complete any other job-related assignments that may be assigned from time to time by the Operations Specialist and/or the HRIS Specialist
- Ability to work independently as needed
- Strong teamwork skills with a focus on collaborating with internal partners as well as external partners
- Demonstrate high level of confidence in making decisions by using good judgment
- Innovative and creative problem-solving skills are required in the role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize is critical for this role
- A high level of customer service skills using discretion, tact, and diplomacy is needed for this role
- Proven technical skills including a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite as well as the proven ability to learn new systems quickly
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- The position is an office position operating in a professional environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and filing cabinets
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time
- A typical work week is 40 hours Monday to Friday with flexible start, lunch break and end day. Weekend work will be as is required.
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field, and three to five years of related HR experience or a combination of education and experience
- SHRM or CIPD professional designation preferred
