Overview

Trailer Mechanic/Technician

Location: 2841 Old Woodruff RD Greer SC 29651

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm

Pay: $25 - $32 per hour (Overtime rate $37.50 - $45 when available)

  • Requirements: Valid Driver's License
What You Will Do

Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment. You will inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs ranging from routine maintenance to more complex tasks. You may disassemble and re-assemble heavy truck and trailer components (e.g., refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, axles) and perform tire maintenance as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, etc.).
  • Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.
  • Disassemble, repair and re-assemble heavy truck and trailer components, including refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, axles, and related systems.
  • Perform tire maintenance, including repairs, failure analysis, coding, and identification.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with on-the-job training or a diploma in vehicle maintenance from vocational or trade school.
  • Must possess the tools required to accomplish essential job results.
  • High school diploma or equivalent training/experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated/proven superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals and complete tags and repair orders.
  • Ability to use and learn various diagnostic software for tractors/trailers.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Physical Requirements

Must be physically capable of standing for long periods, bending, crawling, climbing, reaching, lifting heavy objects (up to 100 pounds or more depending on the job), and performing repetitive motions with hands and arms, often in tight spaces. Requires good overall strength, dexterity, and endurance.
