Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Business Development, the Business Development Representative will coordinate and work with the Business Development team, Operations, Marketing, and Pursuit teams, initiate contact with prospective clients, attend various trade shows and industry events, conduct market analysis, and develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or equivalent education/experience
Experience
  • Five years’ professional experience in the business development department within an A/E/C firm.
  • Experience with a CRM Database, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
Skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate very well with all levels within the organization
  • Proven track record in Ballard’s markets of the Power, Water/Wastewater, Industrial, Environmental, and Transportation Industries.
  • Well organized and high attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and high-energy in nature, with the ability to function well in a fast-paced team environment with continued growth and development
  • Must possess a professional demeanor that builds trusting relationships, will reflect favorably upon the company, enhance its reputation, and promote goodwill
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, oral and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate pre-show planning, attend, and complete post-show activities for National and regional trade shows.
  • Work with the BD team to support the strategic identification and implementation of new markets.
  • Strategically partner with the TCG Business Development group, ensuring strong collaboration between Ballard and TCG business development.
  • Perform market research to identify new opportunities to target. Capture those targets in the CRM.
