The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring the inspection, acceptance, and release of conforming products through the application of proven quality assurance techniques. This role operates independently and combines hands‑on quality inspection with support for EHS program execution to drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities Supplier Quality Management- Support and oversee receiving inspection processes to ensure incoming materials meet specifications
- Receive and adjust material records in MRP system as required
- Document, categorize, and track supplier errors while maintain comprehensive quality records
- Partner with suppliers and/or SQE to resolve quality issues and implement effective corrective actions
- Conduct product inspection using appropriate gauges, tools, and inspection methods
- Interpret engineering drawings and apply dimensions, tolerances, and specifications
- Ensure proper identification, segregation, and disposition of nonconforming parts
- Review and validate material certificates for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain accurate quality records in accordance with company requirements
- Ensure proper documentation of all inspections, nonconformances, and quality activities
- Support data integrity, traceability, and document control standards
- 2-4 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or supplier quality
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or related technical field (preferred)
- Proficiency with quality management software and ERP systems
- Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (SPC, PPAP, APQP, 8D)
- Strong understanding of quality documentation requirements and record keeping
- Experience with hardness testing and material inspection techniques
- Excellent analytical, root-cause, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- High attention to detail in documentation and inspections
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Adaptability to changing priorities and assignments
- Works in both office and distribution warehouse environment
- Noise level:
Ranges from moderately quiet in office area to high in warehouse area. - Physical Requirement:
May involve regular movement between office and warehouse floor requiring adherence to safety protocols.
