The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health is currently hiring registered nurses to join our team of dedicated professionals.

Overview

The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health is a 156-bed private behavioral health system located on 13 acres in the Greenville, South Carolina area. Specializing in psychiatric programs and substance abuse treatments such as detox and rehab, we serve Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and areas throughout South Carolina and western North Carolina. Programs are available at various levels of care to accommodate the severity of every patient’s condition: inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment.

Summary of

Job Duties

To provide primary care coordination for patients and implement a collaborative care plan as prescribed by the physician and treatment team.

Essential Job Functions
  • Administers patient medications prescribed by physician.
  • Completes nursing assessment, updates treatment care plans, and participates in treatment planning.
  • Helps maintain the therapeutic milieu on the unit, including, but not limited to, facilitation of community meetings.
  • Maintains patient, program, department, and related documentation.
  • Effectively manages psychiatric crisis emergency situations.

Qualifications Education

ADN or BSN in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing required.

License

South Carolina registered nurse license with current registration required. Multi‑state license with South Carolina included in the compact is also acceptable.

Experience

Zero–one (0–1) year of experience required. Two (2) years of related experience preferred. Experience with psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred.

Additional Requirements

Successful completion Management Aggressive Behavior Training (HWC) before on the unit orientation and prior to assisting with restraining procedures. Successful certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association for CPR prior to taking an independent patient assignment.

Work Hours

36 hours per month with 1 weekend shift in that 36 hours.

Equipment

Telephone, shower/bath, audio‑visual equipment, EKG machine, thermometer, refrigerator, radio, blood pressure cuff, vitals machine, housekeeping and supplies, copy machine, physical restraints, first aid items, and shredder.
