Paint and Robotics Technician
Location: United States, Greer, South Carolina
Shift: nights 8p‑5a (Sunday night through Friday morning)
Pay: $28‑32/hr with a $.75 shift premium for nights
Status of Hire: full‑time, direct hire
Industry: automotive manufacturing
Responsibilities- Independently set up and troubleshoot new or in‑production paint delivery systems and associated 6‑axis ABB robots.
- Assist with the set up and troubleshooting of robot cells, secondary equipment, and newly introduced production equipment.
- Repair or replace end‑of‑arm tooling on paint robots (tips, grippers, nozzles, spray heads).
- Write work instructions and enter preventive maintenance checklists for secondary equipment.
- Operate an overhead crane safely when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Team during installations, equipment troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of robots and secondary equipment.
- Recommend and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Promote teamwork and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- HS Diploma or GED required; vocational school coursework or associate’s degree in Mechatronics or Robotics preferred.
- Experience with 6‑axis ABB (or similar) robot troubleshooting and maintenance required.
- Minimum four years’ work experience in an automotive paint facility troubleshooting paint delivery systems and robots, or equivalent experience in automotive manufacturing equipment maintenance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasked environment with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with others and independently when needed.
- Availability for overtime as required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States (sponsorship not available).
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug test and background check.
