Position: Tool Room Technician (Nights)

Job Title: Tool Room Technician (Nights)

Location: Greer, South Carolina, United States

Department: Injection Molding

Shift: Nights - B shift, rotating 12-hour nights (6 p.m.

- 6:30 a.m.)

Salary: $38.18/hr, with pay bumps at 3 and 12 months, plus $1/hr night shift differential

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all injection molds on-site and implement a preventive maintenance plan to ensure tools are managed at a high standard.
  • Prioritize breakdowns, rectify problems, and minimize downtime to improve tool availability.
  • Participate in mold strip downs during project phases in collaboration with plant engineers, engineering centers, and tool makers.
  • Support new project trials and offsite activities, prepare tools for plant industrialization, participate in trials, and propose improvements.
  • Document all work, repairs, or modifications on tools on site.
  • Maintain KPIs and key deliverables such as safety, PPMs, first-time right injection (%
    RFT), scrap rates, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Work within the shift pattern and cover call-outs as scheduled.
  • Support all production areas as needed.
  • Technical Requirements:
  • 3+ years' experience in mechanical tool maintenance, including use of lathes, grinders, milling machines, and drills.
  • High School Diploma or technical training in toolmaking, tool maintenance, or equivalent.
  • Ability to TIG/MIG weld to a high standard.
  • Skill in polishing, finishing, refining, and deburring tooling cavities and surfaces.
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems on mold tools and auxiliary equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance on injection molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Dedication to safety.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States.
    • Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
    • Local candidates preferred; no relocation assistance available.
