Job Description

Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking a Field Technician / Mechanic II/III in the Greer operations area, Carolina SMA reporting to the Shop/Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Job Details
  • Wages start at $26/hr
  • Starting wage will be higher based on verifiable experience for higher skill level technicians

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs on heavy trucks, heavy equipment and asphalt equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brakes, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating and cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance on construction equipment and dump trucks.
  • Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
  • Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
  • Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment.
  • Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
  • Adhere to company cardinal rules.
Qualifications
  • Strong uncompromising focus on safety at all times.
  • Able to perform all duties under DOT regulations & company safety policies and practices.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working on construction equipment and on-road trucks.
  • Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
  • Experience performing DOT Annual Inspections preferred.
  • Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
  • Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet.
  • Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
Work Environment
  • Outdoor, shop, and in-field environments.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, weather and moving equipment.
  • Requires adherence to PPE standards at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using diagnostic software.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Hydraulic or technical schematic reading experience.
  • Vocational or technical school training in diesel technology, heavy equipment, or related field.
