Job RequirementsOverview: The position is part of the HR Service Center team, which handles a wide range of HR-related inquiries from internal employees.
- Respond to HR-related inquiries via the HR Service Center via email, phone, internal app, and in person.
- Input and manage high volume of data in SAP and other HR systems.
- Responsible for handling/maintaining confidential information.
- Provide support in a service-oriented customer support center.
- Handle sensitive employee interactions with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach and a willingness to help others.
- Onsite, desk-based role with headset usage.
- Service Center hours:
Monday – Thursday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM;
Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. - Must be flexible to occasionally work outside standard hours, including early morning onsite hours on Wednesdays (starting at 6:00 AM) on a rotating basis with team members.
- Flexibility required a few times per month.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to manage conflict.
- Comfortable working in a customer support center environment and speaking on the phone regularly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new systems and adapt to technical tasks.
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience completing I-9/e-verifies.
- Experience working in a customer support center environment.
- Spanish/English bilingual strongly preferred.
Please note: This position is very call center heavy. The person will engage with people on the phone, via email, via chat, and walk-ins.
Scope & Responsibilities- Provides general administrative support and serves as an associate contact in an inbound HR service center environment.
- Uses knowledge base and case management software to assist associates with HR transactions and general questions, in accordance with service center targets and standards.
- Completes electronic and in-person onboarding and orientation activities.
- Responds to associate questions about programs, policies, and procedures; routes inquiries to appropriate staff when needed.
- Maintains confidential documentation and uses case management tools to track inquiries.
- Alerts service center supervisor to inconsistencies in the knowledge base.
- Works with subject matter experts to provide final answers; routes calls as needed.
- Scans/indexes HR documents; maintains compliance with standards.
- Participates in training of staff and uses emerging technology to improve efficiency.
- Supports data requests for internal/external reporting and adherence to VPS and 5S/Safety standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Education: BS degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field, or 4+ years of HR work experience.
- Experience: 2+ years in a customer service role; 2+ years using various computer software and systems; experience handling confidential data; SAP experience preferred; 3+ years of communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to handle a high volume of associate calls daily with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work in a confidential, structured, and metrics-driven environment.
