Catering Manager

Overview

The Catering Manager is responsible for growing, leading, and executing catering operations within their market. This role combines hands-on catering execution with business development, food truck operations, and support for new restaurant openings. The Catering Manager ensures that every catering experience reflects Guthrie’s standards of quality and hospitality while building lasting community relationships that drive brand growth.

• Reports directly to the District Manager.

• Lead and manage all aspects of catering operations within the assigned market.
• Coordinate, execute, and deliver catering orders to ensure flawless service and guest satisfaction.
• Canvass trade areas to generate new catering opportunities and build relationships with local businesses, schools, and organizations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for catering clients, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
• Manage catering logistics including scheduling, staffing, equipment, and vehicle use.
• Collaborate with District Managers and General Managers to integrate catering efforts into overall restaurant operations.
• Support new restaurant openings within the market by assisting with catering promotions, events, and operational setup.
• Maintain accurate records of catering sales, expenses, and client feedback, reporting regularly to leadership.
• Generate enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment toward company objectives.
• Maintain flexibility to perform duties above and beyond this description as business needs evolve.

Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:

• Walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time.
• Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. overhead.

Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:

• Making observations.
• Communicating with others.
• Reading and writing.

Exempt

• Previous experience in catering, restaurant operations, or event management strongly preferred.
• Ability to coordinate and deliver catering orders, including setup and client interaction.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to travel within assigned market as needed (up to 75%).
• Must maintain a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required for catering and events.
• Completion of in-store training program.
• Subject to background check.
• Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Restaurant environment: Work with advanced kitchen and front-of-house operational equipment, including fryers.
• Catering environment: Transport, set up, and serve food at off-site events.
• Office environment: Work with computers and office equipment.
• Essential job functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking, lifting, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
