Salary – $50-$60 per hour. Type – Contract Term - 12 month
My client is a global engineering and industrial automation organization supporting complex manufacturing and production environments across the automotive and industrial sectors. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in controls, system integration, or industrial automation to support the delivery of automation projects from concept through installation and commissioning.
This role is well suited to a Controls Engineer or automation-focused engineer who has taken on project leadership responsibilities and is looking to broaden their scope across project delivery, customer engagement, and commercial oversight.
The Project Manager will have the following attributes:- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 5+ years of experience within controls, system integration, or industrial automation project delivery
- Prior experience leading controls or integration teams within an OEM or system integrator environment
- Strong understanding of PLC and HMI systems, including design and troubleshooting
- Experience developing project estimates, quotes, and customer proposals
- Background in job cost analysis, budget tracking, scheduling, and resource management
- Exposure to robotics systems (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or similar) is beneficial
- Comfortable working in fast-paced manufacturing and customer-facing environments
- Managing multiple automation projects of varying size and complexity
- Owning project scope, schedule, budget, cost, margin, and customer expectations
Coordinating PLC and HMI development activities and supporting troubleshooting as required - Working closely with sales and customers to review project scope, designs, and technical data
- Managing on-site installations, including oversight of subcontractors across electrical, controls, and mechanical disciplines
- Attending job walks, start-ups, commissioning activities, and project close-out meetings
- Stepping in hands-on as a Controls Engineer when required to support project execution
