Division 7 Greenwood, SC. Fire Sprinkler Apprentice with Century Fire Protection. Work with a skilled Foreman to learn how to install fire sprinkler systems for industrial, commercial, and residential applications to protect and save lives. • The basic function of the Sprinkler Helper is to work with and learn from the Sprinkler Fitter/Foreman on the installation of fire sprinkler systems.
• You will be trained in quality standards and working within the various codes and standards associated with fire sprinkler systems. Interact with customers on a daily basis.
• Assist Fitter/Foreman on sprinkler install jobs, traveling to job sites as required by the specific assignment.
• Lay out and connect pipes using snap lock or wrench to tighten collar clamp.
• Attach revolving sprinkler heads to vertical pipes at designated points along the pipeline.
• Communicate with foreman and/or superintendent any safety hazards and discrepancies found on the job site.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow Safety rules and requirements.

• No prior fire protection experience required; demonstrated ability and desire to learn with good mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
• Willing to commute/travel to jobsites as needed.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Positive attitude and desire to learn and strive for success.
• Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as in ducts, crawl spaces, on ladders, outside in the heat or cold, on lift equipment, or dirty environments.
• Ability to transport equipment and tools weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
