As a Security Officer – Refinery Gatehouse in Greenwood, SC
, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. You will help manage entry points, verify credentials, and direct employees, contractors, and visitors with clear, professional communication. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and document activity using site systems. This role is a Part-Time Security Officer position with a schedule that can be built using our Claim a Shift platform.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and personnel by following site-specific access control procedures, security-related policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial chemical location.

• Control entry and exit at gates and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials, managing visitor logs, and coordinating approvals for deliveries, contractors, and scheduled appointments.

• Screen vehicles, packages, and materials in accordance with site procedures, document findings, and report irregularities to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision to deter unauthorized access.

• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, supporting evacuations and/or shelter-in-place directions, and completing required incident documentation.

• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including perimeter and access points, monitor alarms and/or cameras as assigned, and report maintenance or security-related concerns through established channels.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer Service Experience is preferred.

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
