Overview
The Greenwood Genetic Center Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory is seeking applications for a Director-level position to join our full-service laboratory team. Candidates should have an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD and must be ABMG Board Certified or Eligible in Clinical Molecular Genetics or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG).
Responsibilities- Assist the current Directors in providing technical oversight of laboratory functions including report writing, test/procedure validations, and ensuring compliance with external regulatory requirements.
- Oversee external and internal proficiency testing and participate in training and competency assessment, continuing education, technical staff guidance and consultation.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures/policies and assist in troubleshooting technical issues as necessary.
- Support involvement in advancing new technologies and related innovation within the laboratory.
- MD, MD/PhD, or PhD with ABMG Board Certification or Eligibility in Clinical Molecular Genetics or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG).
- Experience in a molecular diagnostic laboratory environment is implied by the Director-level responsibilities and must align with regulatory and quality requirements.
The GGC Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory is a state-of-the-art unit offering diagnostic services, including Whole Genome Sequencing and other related NGS methodologies, Epi Sign testing, Sanger sequencing and other traditional molecular methodologies. Additional experience with array-based and optical genome mapping (OGM) testing is also desirable. It is also noted that involvement in advancing new technologies and related innovation is an important aspect of this role.
