Overview

Operating Room Nurse Manager at Self Regional Healthcare – Greenwood, SC. This role provides leadership for patient and team member safety and the development and implementation of plans to provide nursing care, treatment, and services. S/he ensures ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient needs to improve the quality of nursing care. Maintains knowledge of current and trending nursing practice and is accountable for compliance with the State of South Carolina Nursing Practice Act;
State Board of Nursing Regulation, DNV, EMTALA, regulatory and accreditation standards.

Supports the nursing vision, shared governance, ongoing professional development, and maintenance of competencies that support professional nursing practice. Creates and maintains a culture of safety by using data to drive decisions and proactively mitigates risks by instructing and mentoring assigned team members. Fosters a healthy work environment that engages nursing teams and enables the organization to meet or exceed licensure, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Role models teamwork and collaboration with team members, physicians, and departments to ensure the voice of the patient is central to processes or policies. Performs other duties related to the role as assigned.

• Lead patient and team safety initiatives and oversee development and implementation of plans to address nursing care, treatment, and service needs.
• Promote a culture of safety by utilizing data to guide decisions and mitigate risks; provide instruction and mentoring to team members.
• Support professional development, governance, and maintenance of clinical competencies among nursing staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and other departments to ensure patient-centered processes and policies.
• Maintain compliance with licensure, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Perform other duties related to the role as assigned.

These specifications describe the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. Individual abilities may result in some deviations.

• BSN required from an accredited nursing school.
• Two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, actively licensed in the state of South Carolina.
• Nurse Managers are to maintain BLS certification. They will maintain other certifications as required by the units they oversee.
• Managers over designated stroke units/floors/Emergency Department will maintain NIHSS certification.
