Overview
Conducts the therapeutic recreational/activity program under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Provides and documents care to patients in accordance with the treatment plan and established SRH and Nursing Services Policies and Standard Work. Functions in a supportive role by communicating findings and resolving work-related issues. Plans and implements patient group and individual activities as identified in the patient treatment plan by utilizing current evidence based practices for the identified populations.
Employs leisure activities to help patients with emotional and mental disorders. Utilizes de-escalation and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) techniques. Performs any other job related duties as requested by Nurse Manager or Director.
- BS in Behavioral Sciences.
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating recreational activities for psychiatric patients preferred.
