Job Responsibilities
The instructor is responsible for accurate and quality delivery of the current nursing assistant, phlebotomy technician, electrocardiogram technician, medical assistant curriculum or other related healthcare programs in its entirety as required by state and national standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to course preparation, lecture and lab instruction via various delivery methods, clinical coordination and instruction, student record keeping and maintaining reporting deadlines as required by all program governing bodies.
The instructor will provide continuous communication to students, faculty, and staff. schedule certification exams appropriately and maintain current provider certification and instructor credentials.
- Prepare courses and deliver lecture and lab instruction for nursing assistant, phlebotomy technician, electrocardiogram technician, medical assistant curriculum or related healthcare programs in alignment with state and national standards.
- Coordinate clinical activities and instruction; manage student records and deadlines as required by program governing bodies.
- Maintain ongoing communication with students, faculty, and staff; schedule certification exams and keep provider certifications and instructor credentials up to date.
- Current licensed RN/LPN with two years of field nursing experience, with at least one year in the provision of long-term care services for elderly or chronically ill patients.
- CMA with three years of experience in the same or similar field.
- Associate degree or higher with equivalent work experience and experience as a lab and/or clinical preceptor.
- Hold current instructor credentials for American Heart Association Basic Life Support and be willing to become a certified instructor if not currently.
