Eaton’s Power Distribution and Controls Assemblies business within the Electrical Sector is currently seeking Product Engineers. These positions can be based in one of our manufacturing locations in Asheville, NC;
Fayetteville, NC;
Greenwood, SC; or Portland, OR, and will offer relocation assistance.

The Product Engineer (often internally referred to as a Custom Order Engineer or COE) is primarily responsible for providing electrical and mechanical design and documentation support for power distribution or control product lines. This includes, but is not limited to engineering designs, collaborating with application engineers and manufacturing associates, utilizing design automation software, and producing and maintaining manufacturing documentation.

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary for this role is $75,000 a year and includes a one‑time $6,000 signing bonus.

• Consult with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.
• Develop complex drawings and bills‑of‑materials based upon established product designs, providing sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser’s equipment application.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
• Advise Drafting/Design, Manufacturing, and Purchasing – when required – in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser’s requirements.
• Manage purchaser onsite visits to approve and/or release equipment for shipping.
• Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices.
• Demonstrate advanced computer skills with ability to learn required software (Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS).
• Consult with Quality in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required.
• Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature.
• Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities.
• Conduct technical training guidance and seminars, as required.
• Analyze needs and recommend revisions to Department Policies and Procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution with a graduation before August 2026.
• Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.

• Minimum of one internship or co‑op experience or an equivalent of 3 months of related experience completed at the time of this application.

• Degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing Internship/Co‑Op experience.
• Knowledge of power distribution products (LV and MV Switchgear, Panel boards and Switchboards, Motor Control Centers, etc.).
• Experience with PLC or relay programming.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Project Management experience.

• Geographical flexibility to relocate within the United States to an Eaton facility including Asheville, NC;
  Fayetteville, NC;
  Greenwood, SC; or Portland, OR.
• Strong analytical, computer, writing, presentation and customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information to customers and manufacturing.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of design standards.
