Adjunct English Instructor

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in English in accordance with the established syllabi to a diverse student body; instruction includes assessment of the program's instructional needs, assist in the planning and delivery necessary to meet those needs, and evaluation.
• Participate in instructional development activities within the department.
• Maintain established posted office hours.
• Must have proficiency in computer skills.
• Commitment to teaching/learning and college mission.
• Ability to establish good working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and others in the college community and to work in teams.
• Receive overall direction and supervision from the English Department Chair, exercise initiative, be a self-starter, multi-task, perform tasks independently, make sound decisions, and provide service to the college.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills.

Faculty teaching associate degree courses designed for transfer to the baccalaureate degree: Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in ENG/ENGL prefix courses.

• Teaching experience at the two-year college level is preferred.
