Overview
Teach courses in English in accordance with the established syllabi to a diverse student body; instruction includes assessment of the program's instructional needs, assist in the planning and delivery necessary to meet those needs, and evaluation. Participate in instructional development activities within the department. Maintain established posted office hours. Must have proficiency in computer skills. Commitment to teaching/learning and college mission.
Responsibilities- Establish good working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and others in the college community and work in teams.
- Receive overall direction and supervision from the English Department Chair; exercise initiative, be a self-starter, multi-task, perform tasks independently, make sound decisions, and provide service to the college.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Contribute to instructional development activities within the department.
- Support the planning and delivery necessary to meet instructional needs and participate in evaluation.
- Maintain established office hours.
- Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in ENG/ENGL prefix courses; associate degree courses designed for transfer to the baccalaureate degree used as a baseline (if applicable to the institution’s wording).
- Teaching experience at the two-year college level is preferred.
- Must possess proficiency in computer skills.
This is a temporary, part-time position.
