Summary: Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is seeking an experienced Event Manager to lead the recruitment, hiring, and supervision of in-store Product Demonstrators. The event manager will oversee product preparation and presentation, train staff, and maintain high standards of service, working closely with warehouse managers, vendors, and demonstrators, including participation in new location grand openings. This role supports Costco’s preferred in‑house event marketing, driving sales and delivering top‑notch customer engagement.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct all activities involved in successful events, promotion, and sales of vendor products.
- Communicate strategies and tactics to achieve sales, service, and operational excellence.
- Support the maintenance and ongoing development of corporate governance framework, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with the District Manager to evaluate event performance metrics, including execution rates, sales performance, labor hours, and operational costs, and adjust as necessary.
- Achieve defined revenue and net income objectives through sales activation, strategy, and expense management.
- Optimize customer satisfaction and loyalty through improved operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct Reports: Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company‑wide processes, tools, and resources.
Indirect Reports: No guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in a client‑side, branded, consumer‑packaged goods company or a combination of supplier‑side and client‑side experience.
- Degree program/major in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and prioritize with minimal supervision.
- Strong supervisory skills, including delegating responsibility, training, and evaluating performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changes in projects or business environment.
- Track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships.
- Ability to direct, lead, and develop people.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, web browsers).
- NEHA Professional Food Handler Certification required.
Physical and Environmental Requirements: The position may be performed in an office, field, retail store, or warehouse environment. Requires spending a majority of the day engaging in physical activity, lifting or pushing up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, using food or cooking equipment, working in cold conditions (refrigerated/freezer sections), and traveling/driving. Proper safety practices when handling products or cooking are essential.
