E. Booth Co. is a family‑owned and operated industrial automation sales company looking to hire their next full‑time IT Helpdesk Technician.

E. Booth Co. is a major distributor of process instrumentation products and related services to customers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. Founded in 1963, George

E. Booth Sr. recognized that there would be a natural evolution in the development of products for the industrial instrumentation process field.

In addition to excellent communication skills, written and verbally, the ideal candidate will have ERP software knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to interface with individuals at all levels within the organization. The IT Helpdesk Technician will be responsible for assisting the IT department and company users with day‑to‑day technical support on both hardware and software. This is an in‑person position located in Indianapolis, IN.

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily performance of computer systems.
  • May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating system.
  • Set up equipment for employees’ use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, and appropriate software.
  • Attain technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Answer user inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems.
  • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
  • Enter commands and observe systems functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken or installation activities.
  • Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervision.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or a technically related field is a plus.
  • At least two years’ related experience in company information technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into easily understood language.
  • Ability to use software suites, presentation software, spreadsheets, and collaboration tools.
  • Attention to details, organizational aptitude, and superior interaction skills necessary.
