Ophthalmic Technician

Position SummaryAs an Ophthalmic Technician
, you’ll be a vital part of the patient care team—supporting optometrists and ophthalmologists while helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for throughout their visit. This is a hands-on role with a mix of patient interaction, clinical learning, and teamwork in a fast-paced, supportive clinic environment.
No prior ophthalmic experience? No problem. We provide on-the-job training and a company-paid certification pathway

- Prepare patients for eye exams by explaining testing procedures in a clear, reassuring way
- Perform preliminary diagnostic testing and additional tests as requested by providers
- Assist optometrists and ophthalmologists during patient exams and procedures
- Help manage patient flow and scheduling, communicating delays when needed
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, including cleaning instruments and tracking supplies
- Create a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and staff
- Support the care team with additional responsibilities as needed
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Interest in healthcare and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well in a team-based clinical environment
- Prior ophthalmic or medical experience is helpful—but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Frequent talking, hearing, grasping, and stooping
- Light lifting (up to 15 lbs. regularly)
- Visual acuity to ensure accuracy and quality of work
