Seeking a reliable and communicative Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced, multispecialty center. This position requires experience in rooming patients, taking vitals, charting, and assisting with minor procedures while maintaining a high level of autonomy in a busy clinic environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of high-volume patient care (20-40 patients/day), Web Chart EMR, and a willingness to learn and grow within a supportive, team-oriented medical group.
Type: Full Time
Location: On-site in Greenwood, IN
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Pay: $17.50 - 22.50/hr
Qualifications:
Experience: Open to experienced MAs or new graduates with a stable work history; must be highly dependable without significant unexplained gaps. Experience in Pulmonology or Sleep Medicine is a plus. Must be comfortable with high-volume patient flow and triaging approximately 30 calls per day.
Education: Medical Assistant diploma or certification is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Web Chart EMR and basic clinical skills (injections, vitals, EKG).
Knowledge: BLS Certification required. Strong understanding of medical history review, allergy documentation, and prescription refills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Get schedule and prepare for patients daily, including chart prep and room stocking.
- Room patients, record vitals, and update medical histories and allergy reviews.
- Administer injections such as flu shots and biologics.
- Assist providers with minor procedures including pap smears, sutures, and splints.
- Manage inbound and outbound calls for triaging, medication questions, and follow-up testing.
- Handle prescription refills and place medical orders as directed by providers.
- Coordinate closely with physicians to establish an efficient operating rhythm and high-quality patient care.
- Resolve patient paperwork and medical records requests in a timely manner.
