Junior Software Engineer; Back End

Location: Greenwood Village, CO (Hybrid: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote)

Target Start: March 2026

Pay Range: $30-35/hr DOE

Our Fortune 500 client is building new capabilities to support its enterprise mobile experiences this year. The team is growing thoughtfully—with senior engineers already in place—and is now adding two Associate-level software engineers (one Front-End, one Back-End) through Brooksource’s Elevate program. You’ll be embedded on a product team, paired with experienced mentors (“anchor model”), and supported by a structured curriculum and coaching that accelerates your ramp without the chaos of learning alone.

Ideal for recent grads, veterans, career shifters, and early-career developers with 0–6 months of experience who are hungry to learn and contribute.

• Build and iterate on enterprise-scale capabilities used by internal teams and business customers.
• Partner with UX, QA, and senior engineers to deliver accessible, performant, and testable software.
• Ship iteratively: small stories, high-quality code, peer reviews, and observable releases.
• Learn a modern toolchain used across product teams.

• Build and maintain REST/GraphQL services and integration layers used by front-end apps and partner systems.
• Implement domain logic
  , validation
  , and error handling with observability (logs/metrics).
• Write unit and integration tests
  ; contribute to API specs and documentation.
• Partner with FE engineers to define contracts and support iterative delivery.

• Service development using Type Script/Node.js (Express/Nest) or Java (Spring Boot) depending on team fit
• API design with OpenAPI/Swagger or GraphQL
• Data access patterns (SQL/No
  
  SQL), caching, pagination
• Testing with Jest/JUnit

• CI/CD fundamentals; container basics (Docker); cloud basics exposure
• One or more projects in Node.js/Type Script

• Comfort with HTTP, JSON, endpoints, and basic database concepts
• Interest in testing, debugging, and clean code practices
• Collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from senior mentors

• Postman/Insomnia, basic SQL skills, message queues, auth (OAuth/JWT), cloud fundamentals (AWS/Azure/GCP)
