We have an immediate opening for a Per Diem PRN OR/PACU RN in Denver, Colorado. The schedule is two weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) per month, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with some holiday rotations. The pay range for this position is $40 to $42 per hour.

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the OR/PACU RN is responsible for:

• Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans
• Perform initial preoperative assessment, develop a plan of care, and explain the subsequent phases of surgery
• Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
• Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
• Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
• Provide patient education

The skills and education we need are:

• Active RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• 2-3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred
• Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
• Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
