The engineer will lead water and wastewater projects across mining life cycles—from exploration to closure—supporting the entire water cycle, including supply, groundwater, reuse, treatment, and discharge. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaboration and mentoring are core to Geosyntec’s culture. Applicants will work closely with experienced professionals, integrate into the culture, and advance their careers. The role blends technical project leadership with business development and client management, and may include staff management and mentoring.
- Develop and execute a personal business development plan aligned with company goals.
- Serve as Client Account Manager on critical water market accounts or for the Mining HGA CDI program.
- Engage in professional societies, conferences, and events to increase firm visibility and earn industry recognition.
- Manage projects: oversee technical work, budgets, schedules, quality, health & safety, client satisfaction, and profitability.
- Recruit, manage, and mentor junior staff and mid‑career engineers and scientists.
- Lead preparation of technical documents, drawings, specifications, and proposals.
- Participate in meetings with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Perform fieldwork as needed, including contractor oversight and troubleshooting.
- Travel to client or project sites in personal, company, or rental vehicles as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering (required).
- Advanced degree in the same fields (preferred).
- Professional registration (e.g., P.E.) (required).
- 8+ years (10+ preferred) of progressive consulting experience.
- Experience in industrial and municipal water supply, treatment, and reuse projects.
- Experience with mining projects.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
- Project team management experience.
- Success in developing and managing client relationships and growing a practice.
- Excellent leadership and detail orientation.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast‑paced environment and travel as needed.
- Strong oral and technical writing skills.
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and drug/background testing may be required.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with a satisfactory record (required).
- Minimum Salary: $123,235/year
Maximum Salary: $199,555/year
