We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team at our headquarters in Centennial, CO. This position offers a hybrid schedule—three days per week in-office following initial onsite training. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger & Reporting

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable tax requirements.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure the accuracy of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Compile internal and external reporting packages for leadership and regulatory bodies.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Recommend and help implement process improvements for enhanced accuracy and efficiency.

Fixed Assets & Payroll Accounting

• Manage the fixed asset register, including asset additions, disposals, depreciation, and useful life assessments.
• Record and allocate payroll-related journal entries, ensuring accurate departmental and cost center distributions.

Accounts Payable & Reconciliations

• Support accounts payable processing, ensuring invoices and vendor statements are reconciled and compliant with internal controls.
• Reconcile company credit card transactions and resolve any discrepancies promptly.

Audit, Compliance & Analysis

• Assist with annual audit and tax preparation by providing required schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor adherence to GAAP, tax laws, and internal accounting policies.
• Develop and deliver ad hoc financial reports and provide analysis to support business decisions.
• Partner with other departments on budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and tax principles.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and advanced formulas; experience with financial modeling is a plus.
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite, Sage, Quick Books, or similar).
• CPA eligibility or active progress toward certification preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team setting.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
