As a Service Specialist you will play a key role in delivering service and support for building automation systems.
Responsibilities- Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies
- Work with multiple internal service team members including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and RAM Digital Service Center personnel
- Follow safety requirements, complete training, and coordinate with contractors on job sites
- Support after‑hours during on‑call rotation, respond to emergency and on‑site service calls, and perform repairs on all automation system types
- Document service tickets, maintain preventive maintenance schedules, and generate reports within Siemens tools
- Provide instructions and training to customer personnel on proper system operations
- Identify and report system discrepancies, suggest upgrade opportunities, assist in pricing of repairs and upgrades, and perform system checkout and start‑up on projects
- Work overtime, on‑call rotation, and minimal overnight travel as needed
- Participate in job‑site final walk‑throughs and turnover for assigned jobs
Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment
- Electro‑mechanical experience and PC/software skills
- Willingness to work in a variety of environments (ladders, ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, etc.) and to use hand tools, laptop, and equipment up to 75 lbs
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work overtime when needed
- 18 years of age and a valid driver’s license with limited violations
- Legally authorized to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Specialized skill training or certification
- Knowledge of building automation systems, PLCs, HVAC, electrical concepts, and building operations
- Background in engineering and programming (PLC or BMS)
- Knowledge of building system communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP)
