Position OverviewWe are seeking a PhD-level professional for a senior role at the intersection of clinical consultation, strategic insight, and practice performance—designed to attract industrial/organizational psychologists and corporate-trained PhDs (consulting, finance, healthcare, institutional environments). Deep psychotherapy specialization is not required.
Role OverviewThe Director of Clinical Strategy & Consultations is the primary clinical consultation lead and a key driver of alignment and growth. This role owns consultation quality, therapist matching, intake systems, retention insight, and external representation, and reports directly to the founder.
Clinical Consultations- Conduct one-on-one initial consultations (virtual/in-person) with adults, families, children, and executives
- Use structured scripts, frameworks, and proven consultation models to clarify concerns, normalize experiences, and explain how therapy works
- Develop a precise understanding of client needs and context
- Clearly explain why the assigned therapist is the right fit, including specialization, style, and approach
- Set expectations ethically and confidently; discuss private-pay fees professionally
- Assign clinicians decisively based on fit and outcomes
Consultations are structured and formula-driven; intensive training is provided. Improvisational therapy is not required.
Consultation Flow, Scheduling & Retention Insight- Guide the scheduling team to ensure efficient booking and follow-through
- Analyze consultation-to-treatment patterns, early disengagement, and terminations to improve systems
- Speak with discontinuing clients to understand experience and support reassignment or closure
- Communicate with clinicians regarding assignment alignment and retention trends
- Build deep understanding of clinician strengths, styles, and best-fit populations
- Provide data-informed feedback to support effectiveness and standards
- Identify gaps in expertise, training needs, or coverage and recommend solutions
- Serve as a strategic bridge between leadership and clinicians
- Represent the practice with corporations, law firms, schools, universities, and professional organizations
- Participate in outreach, presentations, and relationship-building
- Coordinate and prepare clinicians for external talks/workshops with consistent messaging
- Translate external signal into strategic insight
Marketing executes; this role owns performance and insight.

- Communication & Support:
Reports to Founder; concise updates on priorities, progress, insights, and recommendations.
Required
- Required PhD (I-O, Clinical, School, Social Work, corporate, Leadership Studies, or related)
- Executive communication skills and ethical judgment
- Experience in consulting, corporate strategy, finance, healthcare, or professional services
- Client-facing roles requiring rapid rapport, and clarity
- Comfort in a private-pay, fee-for-service environment
