About the Company:

Amphora Equity Partners is a newly formed private equity firm that makes control investments in the North American packaged food and beverage sector. The firm focuses on well-established branded products and contract manufacturing businesses in which it can support management teams to drive real value creation through operational excellence and follow-on acquisitions.

Role Overview :

The Vice President – Operations & Finance will support Amphora’s growing portfolio of food and beverage brands. This role is a hybrid of FP&A, operational finance, and M&A, serving as a critical partner to investment, operations, and portfolio leadership teams.

The VP will conduct financial planning and transaction-related diligence while helping drive operational excellence and value creation across the portfolio. This position requires deep experience in CPG-focused M&A, combined with strong operational and analytical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational and financial diligence for food and beverage companies. In-depth financial modeling, consumer and category analysis, and supply chain evaluation.
  • Oversee and validate quality of earnings. Develop working capital, cash flow, and balance sheet analyses.
  • Provide detailed assumptions for transaction models, valuation analyses, and return scenarios.
  • Support deal structuring and seller transition services alongside portfolio leadership.
  • Perform detailed reviews of plant-level financials, inventory reconciliation, and cost accounting practices during diligence.
  • Assess manufacturing, supply chain, and working capital risks through on-site reviews and operational data analysis.
  • Develop and oversee portfolio-level and company-level FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning.
  • Build and maintain scalable financial reporting and KPI dashboards.
  • Analyze unit economics, margins, pricing, trade analysis and cost structures to support decision‑making.
  • Evaluate manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, and inventory management performance, inclusive of co‑manufacturers.
  • Support capacity planning, demand forecasting, and inventory optimization initiatives.
  • Identify and execute margin expansion, cost reduction, and working capital optimization opportunities.
  • Analyze and improve plant‑level cost structures, standard costing models, and variance reporting.
  • Perform reviews of bill of materials, labor and overhead absorption, and yield/scrap metrics.
  • Support implementation of systems, reporting processes, and controls post‑close.
  • Partner with portfolio leadership on add‑on acquisitions, refinancings, and exit preparation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in large food and beverage company M&A group, CPG‑focused investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory firm.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex M&A transactions and end‑to‑end diligence processes.
  • Strong background in FP&A, financial and accounting diligence, and operational finance.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the CPG ecosystem, including retailers, distributors, co‑manufacturers, and internal manufacturing operations.
  • Proven knowledge of plant-level accounting, including inventory reconciliation, standard costing, variance analysis, and yield/scrap management.
  • Experience evaluating cost structures, bill of materials, labor and overhead absorption, and manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and operational metrics, including fill rates, service levels, inventory turns, capacity utilization, and logistics costs.
  • Experience supporting post-merger integration and financial and operational systems implementation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel for financial modeling and scenario analysis and PowerPoint for executive presentations.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting, quality of earnings, and transaction structures within a CPG environment.
  • Experience with syndicated data sources (SPINS, Nielsen, Circana) is a plus.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.
  • Self‑directed, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
