We are partnering with an alternative investment firm based in Greenwich, CT, focused on middle‑market distressed, special situations, and complex financings across a broad range of industries. With a 15+ year track record, the firm leverages deep in‑house financial and operational restructuring expertise to transform businesses and generate strong risk‑adjusted returns.
The firm is hiring an Investment Analyst to join its investment research team. This role offers hands‑on exposure across the full investment lifecycle, including underwriting, transaction execution, portfolio monitoring, value creation, and exits. The analyst will work closely with senior investors, portfolio company management teams, and boards of directors.
What You’ll Do- Perform in‑depth investment analysis and underwriting across distressed and complex capital structures
- Build and maintain detailed financial, liquidity, and recovery models
- Analyze capital structures, downside protection, and recovery scenarios
- Review and summarize credit documentation and deal terms (loan agreements, indentures, intercreditor agreements)
- Prepare investment committee memoranda and supporting materials
- Support transaction execution, including diligence coordination and deal closings
- Monitor portfolio companies and support value creation initiatives
- Assist with M&A, financings, restructurings, and exit processes
- Conduct ongoing industry and market research
- Contribute to ad hoc projects including bankruptcy analysis, distressed trading ideas, and special situations work
- 3–4 years of total experience, including:
- At least 2 years of investment banking (restructuring strongly preferred)
- 1–2 years of investing experience (credit, PE, or special situations)
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
- Strong understanding of capital structures and credit investing
- Comfort analyzing legal and credit documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly analytical, intellectually curious, and detail‑oriented
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative, in‑office environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field (CFA a plus)
