Secondary English Teacher - Part-Time (Year 5 English) - Blackheath - Primary School

A Primary School in Blackheath is seeking an experienced Secondary English Teacher to teach English to two Year 5 classes each morning, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-12:30pm.

This unique Secondary English Teacher role is based within a primary setting, delivering high-quality English lessons to upper KS2 pupils. The school is specifically interested in a Secondary English Teacher with strong subject knowledge who can stretch, challenge, and prepare Year 5 pupils for upper KS2 expectations.

• Teach English to two Year 5 classes as a Secondary English Teacher
• Deliver engaging and structured literacy lessons as a Secondary English Teacher
• Support reading comprehension, grammar, and writing development
• Use strong subject knowledge as a Secondary English Teacher to raise attainment
• Collaborate with primary staff as a Secondary English Teacher

This Secondary English Teacher role would suit a confident and adaptable Secondary English Teacher who enjoys working with younger pupils while maintaining high academic standards. The school values a Secondary English Teacher who can bring subject depth and structured methodology to the classroom.

The Secondary English Teacher will be required to trial for one week immediately after February half term. This trial period allows the Secondary English Teacher and school to assess suitability.

• Hold QTS (Secondary English specialism preferred)
• Have proven experience teaching English as a Secondary English Teacher
• Be confident delivering lessons to upper KS2 pupils
• Be available Monday to Friday, 8:30am-12:30pm
• Applicants must have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one through us.
