Elementary School, Performing Arts Roles/ Dance Instructor
Position
Dance Teacher – maternity leave replacement (February–March 2026).
Exempt (FLSA). Reports to Heads of Upper, Middle and Lower School;
Performing Arts Chair.
- This is a temporary contract with possible extension.
- Ideal candidate is flexible and adaptable to evolving needs.
- Proven experience teaching students across the full age range of K‑12.
- Proficiency in teaching multiple styles, including Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, and/or Contemporary. Knowledge of Liturgical Dance is a plus, but not required.
- K & 1st Grade: Ballet and Jazz; lead engaging, upbeat classes; incorporate creative movement songs.
- 2nd–4th Grade: Musical Choreography; choreograph multiple dances for the Spring Musical, coordinating requirements with the Music Teacher.
- Middle School (6th Grade): Jazz & Hip Hop Basics; teach ten classes (5 Jazz, 5 Hip Hop), focusing on foundational skills and fun choreography.
- Upper School: Performance Preparation; teach two sections; set two pieces for the Spring Concert and accompany students on one dance‑centered field trip.
