K-12 Dance Teacher - Maternity Leave Replacement (February - March 2026) job at Sacred Heart Greenwich, Greenwich, CT.

Student leadership and well-being are connected to every academic discipline, as all full-time teachers are also grade-level advisors. The school offers a coed program for young children at the Barat Center for Early Childhood Education and then an all-girls experience from K-12 on our 110-acre campus in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Position

Position: Dance Teacher - maternity leave replacement (February-March 2026).
Reports to: Heads of Upper, Middle and Lower School;
Performing Arts Chair.
FLSA Status: Exempt.

Responsibilities
  • This is a temporary contract with the potential for extension.
  • The ideal candidate is flexible and adaptable to evolving needs.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience teaching students across the full age range of K-12th grade.
  • Proficiency in teaching multiple styles, including Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, and/or Contemporary. Knowledge of Liturgical Dance is a plus, but not required.
Specific Grade-Level Requirements
  • K & 1st Grade: Ballet and Jazz;
    Lead engaging, upbeat classes; incorporate creative movement songs.
  • 2nd - 4th Grade: Musical Choreography;
    Choreograph multiple dances for the Spring Musical, coordinating requirements with the Music Teacher.
  • Middle School (6th Grade): Jazz & Hip Hop Basics;
    Teach ten classes (5 Jazz, 5 Hip Hop), focusing on foundational skills and fun choreography.
  • Upper School: Performance Preparation;
    Teach two sections; set two pieces for the Spring Concert and accompany students on one dance-centered field trip.
