Travel Requirement: 70–80% Domestic (Some International Travel Required)
We are hiring three (3) Field Service Technicians at Level 1 and Level 2 to support robotic and automation equipment throughout the U.S. Ideal candidates bring strong electrical/mechanical skills, customer-focused professionalism, and the ability to travel frequently.
Compensation- Level 1: $24–$32 per hour (Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude required)
- Level 2: $32–$42 per hour (Field service experience required)
Candidates must be able to pass all drug and background screenings.
Job SummaryThe Field Service Technician is responsible for on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced robotic and automation machinery. This role includes frequent customer interaction, documentation of service activities, and collaboration with internal teams. Service work may be performed on-site, in-house, or via phone support while following all company and customer safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and technical support on robotic and automation equipment.
- Travel to customer sites—often on short notice—and work flexible hours to meet customer needs.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and programming issues and provide guidance to customers and internal teams.
- Create complete backups of all software, programming, and configuration changes made during service visits.
- Prepare accurate Field Service Reports before leaving customer sites; obtain customer signatures and provide copies.
- Support Sales, Engineering, Assembly, Spare Parts, and Shipping/Receiving when needed.
- Promote parts and service opportunities during customer interactions.
- Travel regularly across the U.S.; occasional international travel required (passport required).
- Participate in training, which may require time at the company’s headquarters in Germany.
- Associate degree (A.A.) in a technical field OR equivalent technical training/experience.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience preferred (Level 2 requires prior field service experience).
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and electronic schematics; GD&T experience preferred.
- Strong customer service skills for both in-person and phone-based support.
- Proactive, organized, and goal‑oriented work style.
- Strong interest in robotics, mechatronics, electrical systems, and automated machinery.
- Intermediate PC skills:
Salesforce, Microsoft Office, email, internet applications. - Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Willingness to travel 75–90%, sometimes with limited notice.
- Genuine interest in solving customer problems and ensuring equipment reliability.
- Manual dexterity for working with complex equipment.
- Regular activities include walking, standing for long periods, climbing ladders, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Frequent lifting/moving up to 25 lbs
; occasional lifting/moving up to 75 lbs
. - Must be able to speak, hear, and use hands for handling and typing.
