Responsibilities

Glen Oaks Hospital (a UHS facility) is a 54-bed private mental health hospital in Greenville, Texas. Our staff includes psychiatrists, professional nurses, social workers and therapists who work as a team to uphold Glen Oaks Hospital’s reputation for excellence in helping patients resolve mental health and addiction problems.

Position Summary: Responsible for the timely processing of inquiry and referral calls. Coordinate all admissions processes and serve as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. Verify insurance, triage patients, complete assessments, staff clinically, enter calls and admissions in computer, and complete all admission paperwork with the patient. Communicate effectively with unit staff and assist the patient to the unit.

Pre-certification with payor source. Follow hospital policies and procedures regarding admissions.

Hours: 7pm to 7am, three nights per week, rotating weekends

Requirements:

Education: Graduate from an accredited RN program;
Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation, and CPR prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
