Job Description

This position is for a Windows Systems Administrator supporting Software Development Engineering teams. The role requires the ability to perform complex, multi‑disciplined administration in secure lab and isolated network environments. You will participate in roadmap, architecture, implementation, and sustainment of operational network infrastructure supporting software teams. The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated team player with excellent technical and communication skills.

Essential Functions
  • Integrate with a team of multidisciplinary, multilevel Systems Administrators supporting Windows, Linux, and Network operations
  • Assist Software Engineers by providing Windows infrastructure services in support of development efforts
  • Partner with Information Security team to provide secure, auditable Windows systems
  • Plan and document operational processes, configurations, and diagrams required for management, security operations, and the software teams
  • Coach, mentor and train new team members
  • Assist leadership with business decisions to demonstrate and safeguard the company by ensuring applicable laws and policies are followed
  • On site (not fully remote) position
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Windows Server and Windows client systems administration (Server 2019, Server 2016, Server 2012, Windows 11, Windows 10) in mixed OS (Unix, Linux) environments.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, ADM Templates.
  • Experience with break/fix troubleshooting.
  • Experience provisioning via Windows Deployment Services, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with network infrastructure services setup and maintenance of DNS, DHCP.
  • Experience with network storage services setup and maintenance of SMB/CIFS.
  • Experience scripting in batch and Power Shell.
  • Patch management in WSUS.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • System hardening and auditing in RMF, CMMC, DFARS, NIST 800‑171, NIST 800‑53, DISA STIG environments.
  • Configuration management with SCOM, Ansible/Ansible Automation Platform, AWX, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Centralized authentication setup and user/group management (FreeIPA, IDM, Kerberos, LDAP, NIS).
  • Code repository administration of Team Foundation Server, Git, Git Lab, Git Hub, SVN.
  • Scripting in Power Shell, batch, VBS/VBA, Python, Perl, JavaScript.
  • Basic network administration of layer 2/3 switches.
  • Supporting multi‑OS environments of Linux, Windows, Solaris, and embedded OS’s.
  • Knowledge of Dev Ops tools (Kubernetes, Open Shift, Team City, Docker, Jenkins).
  • Experience in building/utilizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud platforms.
  • Certifications in one or more MCSA, MTA, Microsoft 365, MCSE, Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH.
  • Deep understanding of metrics and monitoring systems (SCOM/MOM, Nagios, Zabbix, Open View).
  • Experience performing log analysis and other network forensic investigations (Elasticsearch, Splunk).
  • Deep expertise troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
  • Experience with creating and improving documented procedures and/or playbooks.
