Overview
Title: Short-Range Planner / Production Scheduler
Type: Full-time, onsite
The Supply Chain Production Planner should have strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams. Owns weekly MPS baseline issuance, firming windows, and resequencing within authority; escalates capacity breaks or material shortages that breach guardrails. Leads daily stand-ups and aligns with Operations to protect throughput and attainment. Key responsibilities include Primary horizon is 0–12 weeks, with daily control inside 0–2 weeks per freeze/slushy/liquid rules;
and converts the approved plan into short-term, finite schedules and orchestrates weekly execution, managing WIP/materials and allocations under defined fences and policies.
- Publish weekly schedules and execute reschedules within fence rules, coordinating with Production, Materials, and Maintenance for feasibility.
- Monitor RM/WIP vs targets, triage MRP exceptions, and lead disposition of blocked stock with Quality and Materials.
- Run allocation plays in coordination with Customer Service and Supply and maintain clean order books and work orders.
- Schedule attainment, plan stability, MRP exception closure lead time, inventory accuracy, and adherence to fences and change limits. Stability and exception SLAs are reviewed weekly in S&OE with trends to S&OP.
- Weekly S&OE reviews, daily short‑interval control, and issue/reschedule approvals within guardrails, with structured escalations for persistent gaps. Freeze/slushy/liquid horizons govern decision timing and flexibility.
- Clears top exceptions per SLA, applies fence rules for resequencing, and escalates unresolved capacity or material constraints with quantified impacts. Documents action logs and sustains schedule stability metrics.
- 2-5 years of related industry experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills along with a thorough knowledge of current SCM concepts and principles
- Finite scheduling, constraint management, ERP/MRP execution, and cross-shift coordination with a focus on stability and attainment.
- The ability to manage changeovers, calendars, and maintenance windows effectively is essential.
- Working knowledge of Oracle E-Business preferred, Advanced Excel skills for data analysis
- Strong communication, organizational and collaborative skills
- Ability to be a contributing member of cross-functional teams
- Experience in regulated/cGMP environment is preferred
- Position exposed to various work environments such as office, production areas, warehouse, etc.
- Must be able to wear proper gowning and PPE in production areas, as required, to meet GMP and/or OSHA requirements.
