HVAC Service Technician - Mechanical Division

Overview

Place Services Inc. has an immediate need for an HVAC Service Technician in our Mechanical Division based out of Easley, SC. Base pay range: $30.00/hr - $35.00/hr the HVAC technician will be skilled in start-up, cleaning, evaluating and repairing systems, and will advise customers to select the most appropriate air quality system to fulfill their requirements. You will be responsible for air quality systems from installation to end-of-life by performing maintenance, warranty and emergency repairs.

This role requires a strong background in HVAC systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to outstanding customer satisfaction, safety and comfort.

• Installing, starting up, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment, including hydronic, steam, chilled water, hot water, DX, forced air, heat pump, constant volume, exhaust, heat recovery, VRF and other related systems.
• Identifying maintenance risks on equipment
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
• Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
• Providing technical direction and on-the-job training
• Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair work; using service software to build accurate customer reports
• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Complying with service standards, work instructions and customer requirements
• Assisting with customer queries

• High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent
• 6+ years of experience as an HVAC technician with a wide variety of systems (hydronic, steam, chilled water, hot water, DX, forced air, heat pump, VAV, constant volume, exhaust, heat recovery, etc.)
• Valid driver’s license
• Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating
• Working knowledge of boiler and chiller systems
• Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
• Ability to work after hours, on weekends and holidays with short or no notice
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
