Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and energetic HVAC Mechanic/Installer to join our growing Mechanical Division. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the installation of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including ductwork, gas piping, and air distribution equipment. This role requires strong construction experience, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work at a fast pace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and install commercial HVAC equipment to include setting curbs, ductwork, gas piping, and overseeing crane or rigging requirements.
  • Install other mechanical equipment such as HVLS fans, unit heaters, louvers, roof top exhaust fans.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and equipment submittals.
  • Work with subcontractors as needed and provide support or direction as needed.
  • Field source materials or parts as needed to keep projects moving.
  • Must have an independent problem‑solving mind‑sight.
  • Ability to safely operate power tools such as saws, drills, torches, or others.
  • Provide Field Supervisor with daily updates on project status or needs in a timely manner.
  • Identify change orders as they arise when client requests differ from mechanical plans.
  • Ability to direct helpers or apprentices during projects to ensure timelines are met and quality work is performed.
  • Work safely at all times adhering to Scout safety practices and wearing required PPE on all job sites.
Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction, ideally working in the mechanical trade.
  • Strong general construction knowledge to include method and means of setting mechanical equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, gas pipe, and components involved in mechanical projects.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical/architectural plans, and instruction manuals.
  • Experience with RTU's, suspended split systems, unit heaters, HVLS fans, and gas piping to supply units.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and reporting job progress to office staff.
  • Maintains professionalism and core values while interacting with customers and co‑workers.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
